This is a ps...I was hoping you'd have been able to come out with me in Hebden Bridge -- the place has been a big disappointment after all the years of people going on and on about how wild and hedonistic and alternative the place is -- it's a LIE! I still keep thinking there's something I'm missing -- that it's happening somewhere in the hills round here, it's just that i've not been invited. Everything shuts at 11. Afterwhich (and before) the streets are empty with no sign of life. The pubs are really inbred and strange. Even Paddy's night the places were half full and quiet. This place is fucking weird. I'd have liked a second opinion -- is it just me? Meanwhile, the place is making me really angry and right wing -- I now loathe environmentalists; vegetarians; hippies; people in walking boots and anoraks; or people wearing mutli-coloured leggings (and especially those who are all of these which seems to be everybody in Hebden Bridge) -- they should be culled. I would personally do kill them and eat them myself. That'd be a pukka veggie kebab! As for Mytholmroyd -- we've only been to the pubs three time and they were really scary and I don't think I could ever go back in one - certainly never on my own. The only way to describe the place is in Belfast terms - spidy (is that how you spell it) Kids shout abuse at me in the street.
