Review

Oohlalah.Mercy Buckets. Huzzah. The middle classes can go to the cinema again. Never fear this a European style ( no subtitles for ease of viewing though, every one just puts on a leetle French accent, even Juliet Binoche), sentimental, nostalgic, famous actors, cutesy pie, story. This is what people think films used to be like. Like a Starbucks pretend coffee, too sugary and no good, the bourgeois audience lapped this up. At the end I started an ironic round of applause which was seriously taken up by a good percentage of the cinema, and the people behind us angrily pointed out my friends who had slumbered through it, " they're the sleepy ones". These middle classes cannot stand anything but conformity to their lowbrow taste. J. Depp put in an unusually good performance.
