Review

Exhausted from a day of unpleasant DIY chores and an incipient cold (sore throat and stuffy nose) I sat down for an evening's viewing armed with a cup of instant decaf and some hobnobs (2 for 1 at the Coop). I was bored by the Dingles' party, old Eric doing his stage villain act, really 5 nights is too much for the rather thin story lines. Still I had "Kenyon Confronts" to look forward to. Get a life Kenyon. I say stop persecuting a few sad refugees, excuse me - illegal aliens, trying to stay in this damp hole. They must be desperate to want to do a crummy job and a council flat in some rotten neighbourhood. But no, there was our hero, Snoopy Kenyon, finding them out. I had to flick over to see if Ken Barlow was still squeezing into his too tight jeans. Ladies will be glad to know he was wearing a dark suit. Back to our hero shouting at some poor sods in the registrar office. He can always get a job as an insurance assessor when the series folds. On to Lisa Dingle and people getting hurt to roars of laughter. Still the best thing of the evening was the cat flushing the lavatory. I really liked that. Jamie Oliver on BBC2 at 8:30 running against Lisa. No I'd sooner watch the cat. Anne Robinson on 1 - thank goodness soon off to the US. It was okay for a few shows but once again over-exposure is finishing it off. After choking unpleasantly on a Hobnob I decided a bath and a good book was better than another couple of hours of mind-boggling rubbish.
