Jupitertrowel- animated film by Joseph Clements and Ian Stallard- limited release 2001
This pretty little animation frustrates one nicely, and is not too boring for a first attempt. There are two jokes: the long slow credits filled with stars for the short plotless space film, and the juxtaposition of the peripatetic ancient Greek and the datedly futuristic spacecraft. It is a dada odyssey. The visuals are not bad, inventive and lively. The worst bit is the tedious sub-Woody Allen dialogue. The fin is good and sudden like all endings should be.
