Review

Still going strong, less of the flowery conceptual writing and a bit more of 'Londonart has a pragmatic attitude to...' to what? Price, first off - Prices range from £20 to over £5,000 'so that every budget can be accommodated' - thoughtful of them, no? Style - categorisation of paintings 6 ways, plus 5 others (including Installation for the really daring). Convenience - 'If you want a 60 x 60cm painting for your living room that’s fine by us'. Search by price, size, style, artist, check the artist's CV and credentials, save 10-15% on gallery price or make an offer.... no apparent opportuniy for gazumping, sadly. Still rather a lot of rather small photos, not all of which load. Is this art for the masses? Bringing the mass to the artists? It reads a bit like Virgin Wines, or Amazon.com.... rate Tracey Emin on a scale of 1-5, and we'll recommend a Trevor Knags you might like. I searched for a picture, but was unable to find anything to suit my budget at £15,000+ except an absolutely incredible hand-charved chess set at a bizareely specfic £33,970 (plus shipping) - I had rather got might hopes up as the individual pieces were listed as free in the under £20 category. This site seems to strip the art of its setting, emphasise the limits and disappointments of the screen and fails to capitalise on its capitalism. Bring back the bullshit merchants please.
