As a resident, and taxpayer, in Central London, I would like to stand up for the good work of the Policemen and women on May 1st. A dear friend of mine owns a camera shop on Tottenham Court Road and had her window broken by the so-called protestors, or vandals.She found that the damage was not covered by her insurance, and suffered considerable emotional and financial distress. Such incidents would have been many without the restrained police actions.
Inspector Massey clearly has a first class mind and his reasoning is very convincing. I will therefore be dialling 999 as soon as I see a group of football "fans", drunken youths, or foreigners, walking by my residence. I can be sure that he or one of his colleagues will arrive quickly to prevent crime.
