Summer Show at The Royal Academy of Arts London UK 2001 until 13 August

What a joke! Peter Blake has managed to make it worse than ever. The trendy artists look terrible, token, and tacky outside their normal pristine white cube context. The old men, Baselitz and Kiefer, are going downhill. Still the German oldies are better than the RA big shots who never were any good. There is a shitload of bad landscapes and figure paintings, and some prints of flowers selling by the dozen. The only good reason to go is to laugh at the retirees and reactionaries orgasming over what they think is real art. Peter Blake is the new Metternich.
