Review

Had lunch here the other day, hard to getta table by the window. Top floor cafe much prettier than bottom one which has more ugly tourists. I think the food is better than the much vaunted National Portrait Gallery restaurant, where the smoked salmon was chilly and overpriced and served indifferently. I had cod with chorizod beans, very tasty beans spicy from the chorizo, and garlicky as well, side order of chips could have been real ones, though a liitle soggy and frozen. Wine good. Expresso too watery, and could they have some bread in English restaurants for once. Nice atmosphere: light and spacious and packed by mix of non-hooligan families, shabby bourgeoiss, and the odd top quality person. £38 for two.
