Review

When you are a child you think that the police are there to protect you, and the laws natural and interpreted by unbiased judges. Strange now to realise the cops and the law are just a more conservative branch of politics, not separate or different, only less democratic. The army is probably the same but it is only called in when protest becomes revolution.

The British protestors flew in from Genoa this evening, arms broken heads bandaged, one is still there in a hospital bed, spleen gone ribs snapped. A BBC reporter belatedly went to see him, but was careful to remind us, we who don't know which team to support: fascist foreign police or trouble making British lefties, to remind us that although the injuries certainly appeared real that what we had heard was only the unsupported evidence of one protestor.

Does the BBC inform us that interviews with old ladies beaten by burglars are subjective, unproven testimony? It seems that Police Criminals need more protection than people who disagree with those that rule them. Criminals are defined by the powerful, whose decisions are implemented by the Police and the Law.
