Review

A set-piece comedy romance with two couples not one, falling apart not coming together. One couple breaks up, the other couple wonders about their relationship, nobody (least of all te characters) is quite sure if their fooling themsleves or not. ' Knowing (overeager) laughs from the audience at the conspiratorial failings of relationships. There are touching moments, there'll be tears from anyone who has ever worried sincerely about all that relationship stuff. But it is a one-note tune, and played lightly but too much for laughs. The big theatrical hits tend to be this way and its as middlebrow and unrewarding as Art. Tasty but without chewy substance.
