Dear Jasper

Thank you for your e-mail. Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying. We know our correspondents appreciate a quick response and we are sorry you have had to wait on this occasion.

I was sorry to read that you were annoyed by the timeslot allocated to 'Seinfeld'. Even very popular programmes face competition for a place in the peak time schedule. These placings are limited in number and there can be practical difficulties in timing programmes to meet fixed 'junctions' in the schedule, such as 10pm on BBC ONE for news and 10.30pm on BBC TWO for 'Newsnight'. By carefully commissioning programmes that fit around these fixed points we hope to provide a range of subjects to interest the majority of our audience. We recognise that some programmes can be pushed to a later slot as a result and can only apologise if it is inconvenient. We always seek to ensure the schedule remains lively and relevant for the audience and that all types of programme are given fair consideration.

As the BBC welcomes and values comments from our viewers and listeners, please be assured that your comments and concerns have been registered and will form part of our daily feedback to programme makers and BBC management.

I thought that you might also like to take a look at the following websites, which are devoted to the programme. The links below will take you to them:

I hope this information will be of interest to you. Thank you once again for taking the time to contact the BBC.
