I always wanted to say that, what is assumed to be contemporary Japanese art in Western societies is far from the one we have here in Japan. Especially Takashi Murakami, he has become a big name in and out of Japan, but he is just taking advantage of Otaku culture which has already existed deep under the society. People who haven't lived here could never understand how deep this culture lies in our society. Japanese art shouldn't be just that. We surely have better art than that.
