I thinks star wars and raging bull probalbly deserve their place in the top 10. Film historians would argue for eisenstein, lang and that lot ....but 99.9% of the population watching those films now would think they were dull and boooooooooring! The medium has evolved! Star wars may lack intellectual depth....but lets remember that film is an aural and visual spectacle.it's the nature of the medium...better to read a novel for intellectual curiosity and inspiration. BUt celebrate star wars!....it awakened my visual senses as a kid and i wouldnt be an artist now had i not wanted to draw space battles as a six year old.
