The Island Cafe Hackney Wick London

Dirty, like newsprint has got over everything, the frywoman's apron stained by grease, the mucky workers handling the Sun, egg on their faces, margarine on their too thick cheap white bread.Ketchup crusted round red plastic bottles and vinegar- dilute acid. An old fatty smell pumped out into the rubbish strewn streets. The coffee like dead dirt overbrewed. Closes as three and serves bottled beer. But slices of proper ham, cut from a ham, served with two fried eggs, and chips or frenchfries depending on the freezer,a can of cold coke to stay alert, make it good.
