quite pleasing paintings, relying on the juxtaposition between very thick blobs of paint, and thinly painted landscapes. The non-ideal shapes have a look of Guston, one wishes contemporary artists could be happy without showing off they know about texture. But still refreshing in their apparent lack of subject matter, and paintiness.
