I am a painter myself. In my opinion and experience, what makes a good painter above anything else is whatever is he/she capable to sort out in his/her insides. Freud, besides coming from a culture of non-image-makers, paints (like all of us) from what he is. Honesty is something we must give him, yet, who really wants to know about his sexual innuendos, personal life and smelly "rotting" procedure. Life is death, for sure, and it does rot continuously, but in the process it seeds the earth (matter)....Titian, Goya, even Ken Kiff have left healthy seeds... Dear Lucien, why don't u start writing... it might suit you better.
