Review

Really so good I have said it before and I will say it again, because each scene is perfect, besides the buffalo bill ones which are too theatrical. Jodie foster is at her best, and Hopkins the greatest antihero since all the others. We are dazzled by the intelligent surface detail, the subject is fully exposed, the director's control absolute. And yet it is trash, meaningless thrills, amoral or immoral, and also so what, after ideology we are at feasters at the spectacle, a concept about 50 years old, and more pertinent daily.
