Review

A compelling book ro read, and good to finally assign some subjectivity to Japanese people, who we racist whities see as polite fashion victims with poor English, wandering our streets, and not committing crimes. It keeps you going, the ghosts and the romance, as usual you want to know what happens in the end, nothing does, and that is the rather laboured point. But Banana manages to convey the small agonies and ecstasies of life everywhere. What would the book be like without the x-files stuff? Less attenuated.
