An engaging and engrossing performance. This production contained many elements familiar to modern artists but used in the classical form of the pantomime. Inter-active; performers participated with audience exchanging plaisenteries and commentaries on the plot. Gender issues; Jack was played by a woman in a swimsuit and Dame Trot was interpreted by a man. Elements of pastiche; borrowings from television series, popular culture and politics. I felt that the audience lacked foot-eye co-ordination; were constantly bumping into one another. The kids liked it most aprt from me. Kinderwurk.
