Review

Although I appreciate the postmodernism of having NYPD Blue's Ginger Caruso as the lead in this spin-off, one can't help but feel that he lost his glamour by failing to make it in the movies, and that cop show culture has moved on since. To contrast, CSI's main man, Petersen, was the lead in Manhunter, the original Silence of The Lambs. What tangled webs we weave.

Miami is not as flash or pacey or well cast as the Las Vegas original. It may improve but it just doesn't have the wow factor of its parent, and digital gore is beginning to bore. You need appealing characters to pull it off. Fast Lane is better because it does without character, and is just all glossy sexy shimmer and musical sequences. So Miami get better or become history like Vice.
