Review

Miller, Hemingway, Mailer. Tough guy literature. By the 70s and Norman it all seems like parody, respect has been leached away by so much autobiography and overreading. At first this makes it difficult to dig this book, yet as with all this triumvirate of absurd macho romantics, they write good and so you are sucked in as to a whore's vagina. Miller to Mailer, with the hummingbird in between, they knew how to nail her. Intelligence beats stupidity, ninety times out of a hundred. Forgeddaboudit, read this murder mystery with a dry martini and some angel dust and a juicy steak.
