Ok Floosy I will definitely avoid that bar. Another scare story comes to mind. Last night with a few friends from work I was dragged kicking and screaming to a bar opposite the side entrance to Foyles book shop near Soho.

The name of the bar is something like the "Dead Crow" or something. My god the clientele were hardcore. Well I say hardcore, but lightly. They wanted to look mean and aggressive but in a comic book, horror, stroke "Iron Maiden" type way. These guys were rockers with buss passes rather than Harley Davidson motorbikes.

I have to say in all fairness we didn't get any troubles from the locals but in all fairness how much Motorhead and AC/DC can you stomach before you reach saturation point?

Theme bars are springing up everywhere. What do they offer their customers? Well I think the answer is a certain microcosm of nostalgia. Some years ago I went in a blues bar in New York. Couples smooched and lip sang to Blues songs. There timing was perfect and the gelled hair exemplary. The missing ingredient was a sense of recklessness and spontaneity.
