Review

Having invited a variety of friends in the eleventh hour, I managed to secure the companionship of David Burten and Karine Savigny who joined me in the Times token offer. When asking for the location of the rest rooms, I mentioned to the serveuse that I had frequented this very establishment 3 years ago and was keen to update my experience; I was not disappointed. Notice the thick carpets, the hangings and the gentle music being played. No need to raise your voice; a privilege I gained from my schooling. I had hoped to entice my co A-leveller Thalia Suzuma who would have injected her views on enthalpy, cell interphase and contemporary dance. As it was the evening's conversation veered much more toward the arts. We all selected English salad, no disappointments here. Fine, secure rocket salad, lettuce and herbs seasoned with vinaigrette. The middle part was salmon and vegetables for all parties, David and I upped the ante with white wine. Then bread and butter pudding for pudding. Next door for an old-style pub. If you come in the day-time take the opportunity to visit the art galleries in the street.
