Review

All these rumbunctious rambling drinking Americans take their manners from Celine, the great writer and better-known French anti-semite. That's not to say Miller, Kerouac, and the gang are bad writers just they are normally extolled by people whose opinions it is hard to take seriously. The rhythm of their words, and their refusal to be miserable, and their love of life ( despite the usual biographical revisionism) is indestructible and good. Read this Big Sur. Mr Miller was there too. The beatniks, hippies, stoners, bohemians, etc. we love you.
