Review

Great title, great book ( in the sense it was great to read), ok film. Bruce W. is silly in glasses pretending to be a journalist. Hanks doesn;t convince as bond dealer, he's to wimpy to have lasted a moment. Brian de Palma starts with one of his now tedious tracking shots. Melanie Griffiths is surprisingly sexy as the blonde mistress. Kim Cattral, samantha from S in the City, plays the prim socialite wife.

Look theres a lot here. But the moralistic ending is very dispappointing, just as you're beginning to accept the film, up pops mOrgan Freeman with a lame homily about decency, it explodes the mood. He says we should behave like our grandmothers would like. Given that generation of white people approved most forms of bigotry, that would seem a bad idea. If B.O.V had been 10% harsher/nastier it could have been great.
