there is a spanish cult movie from the 60´s called la cabina (spanish for phone box, yap) - where a guy is cannot leave a box, suffers and in the end is removed with the box into a tunnel outside the city where (only in the end) we find more people, lots of people, locked and dead inside of them, perhaps due to an evil organisation of which in Franco´s spain nothing more needed to be explained in Franco´s Spain. I saw it when I was about six in Venezuela´n TV. Never heard of it again, and now suspect some images must be fantastic and perhaps have inspired or given the idea to this new american film. I will not see either, so I leave this question open to any reader here who would like to research further.
