There was a woman in the gallery exclaiming over how wonderful, how new and great this carnival wagon made of old furniture was. I saw one similar at a Venice Biennale, a few years ago, it was made by paid craftsmen of marquetry or indonesian bamboo. I never thought it was all that great then. My mind goes duh when I see this stuff. Like, who cares, not me. Pointless references to invisible ideas that don't inhere in the object. and even the contexts and references make no point when you discover them in the press release.
