caracas is placed in a beautiful tropical elevated valley i can see the baseball stadium and the central university from my 10th floor balcony i am here in an artists in residency programme the central university in caracas was architecturally designed by Villanueva in the fourties and fifties it was build thinking in artists and architects working together with a common end it is the most beautiful university i have seen in my life on sunday people come to the gardens in the campus to relax under the palm trees in the morning i see the students entering from muy balcony the clouds get stuck on the mountain ladder, caracas is at 1000 mts from sea leve, the mountain reaches 2000 meters, so a beautifui green wall separates me from the caribbean this time. the natural wall traditionally stops the hurracaines from entering the capital, the price to pay is 45 mins to the sea by car there are no trains in venezuela this is an oil producing poor country, an no president built on the future, only thought of their own water is more expensive than petrol but cars are old and tough american giants paradise is more or less at this distance from the equator and this altitude, but not here
