Review

Fat ugly musicals bad taste rich man's collection of art. Saw no visitors under age 85. Young people don't appreciate all the lovely detail and the hard work that went into to these pre-raffish paintings.

The Pre-Raphaelites are responsible for the staganation of British art from 1850 to 1987. They appeal to all the sentimental meretricious things the public admire; whilst the rest of the world was being avant-garde, the Brits were founding a movemement to paint auburn haired ladies and King Arthur with small brushes using egg tempera. From then on Britain was always behind.

The show is ok. The Grimshaw landscapes and the Dadd are very lookable. But all reeks of someone with bad reactionary taste assembling a collection out of expensive sometimes good minor art.
