The beers were outside in a bucket, and a big sign on the door said no drinks in the gallery. It was a chilly blustery night, so that seemed a bit cruel and precious.
Gottelier's paintings weren't bad, though I prefer his more highly worked on/ dense Gustony ones. These pictures seemed to be to much paint effect, just one technique used to make a flashy mark. Shallow. I imagine he got bored with too much slop, so perhaps the new ones are also a step forward.
