Every day it rains and rains and rains again. The temperature is globally warmed, so the cold does not gnaw at your bones, and the precipitation has an almost romantic quality in its relentlessness. A misty vaporous fugue in this verdant isle, always the shower in the bathroom where the window is never opened. Lubrication for British reserve, a new nationalism borne by water and rugby seeps through the rivers of English blood.
