Fatz, you have a point. I was disheartened by your B&B tirade (I have had some gratifyingly bad semi-sexual disasters in these traditional hostelries), but I stand shoulder to shoulder with you when it comes to the GNER experience. The food is pretty good value - not much more expensive than the microwaved hoof/shit they do in the buffet. For those of us with an eye on the wallet, it provides a cheap way to first class travel. If you're lucky you will get to stay in the better seats for the whole of teh journey.
