Review

Gotz. Mein Gotz. A mad King in Germany painted his castle psychadelic colours in the nineteenth century. Gotz has coloured the windows of this office block foyer in the humming shades of the sixties. You can see it a mile off, or at least from down the road, and I didn't believe it was the art show, so we trudged around for another 10 mins looking for the right place. Does it subvert, exaggerate, draw attention to, or beautify the architecture? Yes and no, perhaps a bit, when the sun shines, the security guards, or receptionists probably bask in a kaleidoscopic bath of heavy hued light. At an opening to celebrate the making of a piece of art, we know little, and see less.
