I have to admit I watch this dopey soapy rubbish, but the other morning it suddenly struck me what a silly series it is. Why are the President and his advisers all such great, serious, moral clever people? Why do they all talk in this meant to be witty and brilliant repartee, which is actually pretty lame? Because it's a dumb show, which is just propaganda for the American elite, and not much better than schools programming. And you hear the chattering classes in England complaining that we have nothing to equal it. Thank god for that. Our shows about politicians show them as venal, saracastic, machiavellian amoralists. Not as preppy swots/geeks. God Bless UK irony.
