Review

They showed the entire second series all in one go, last night. So one could draw some conclusions. It's a fine show, and not as formulaic as I;d thought. The massage one, the baptism, and the basketball one, were very funny, as good as Seinfeld. Larry David's strength is his self knowledge of his own selfishness and annoyingness, combined with his misanthropy. This was exemplified in the scene where he chatters in a stream of consciousness, as he and wife, running late drive to her sister's wedding, which made me laugh a lot. The coincidence based plots ( a frequent motif) work best when pushed to a slapstick extreme, such as in the basketball game episode, they become a bit tedious when it's just Larry seeing, revenging himself, or relating to someone he confronted earlier.

All in all in all in all, a great addition to the few funny sitcoms of the world, though the complete showing of a series in one night, has made me confused about what day it is.
