If you found the video about the Americana festival so confusing and yet "obvious'. Yes, it is meant to be a serious critique of the "special relationship" - examined via the metaphorical and actual images of this celebration of all things (believed to be) American. It is unashamedly subjective - and therefore not a documentary. We make no claims to be objective. The text (voice-over) does not necessarily relate to what is happening on screen. If anything, the film is too short, it tries to condense several generations of british people's relationship with American material culture. As far as we are concerned, the text contains no "buzz words" (yes - we are interested in sociology - is this a crime?) - if it was difficult to understand - we are unapologetic.
Nevertheless, we thank you for your thoughts and criticism.
