For 2 per cent or so of your house price, many thousands of pounds: They will do the following:
Get your name wrong.
Not know your phone number.
Send round people who want a 4 bed in zone one, to a one bed in zone 6.
Not bother to phone when the sale falls through. So you can spend more money on solicitors... Only when you phone them with a query will they deign to tell the seller has fled to Bolivia to avoid embezzlement charges.
Arrange viewings for any time between 6am to 12 midnight, at 10 minutes notice.
Not actually sell your house.
Blame you for wanting too much money, and having a shit place in a crummy area, if their preceding efforts fail to earn them their commission.
That is the joy and good value of British estate agents.
