The gallery seems to provoke artists to put big wall sized paintings in the big space. Of course large paintings are novel In the London scene, and therefore have a scarcity appeal.
I think gloss painting( blame Gary Hume) is sort of Dead, as Andy might have said. The dullness, translucence, and glazedness, of oil paint is triumphant in this new millenium. So not many kicks.
