Today was my final assignment for medical geography for which I gave a presentation on acupuncture. I was very surprised to learn that it is ocly spelt with one 'c' as was Annabelle, my co-student, who looked up the definition in the large Oxford dictionary. With this information in hand, I was able to field a question from her at the end of the talk. What tactical response was that! My lecture closely followed the material in a BMA publication and shed some light on the subject. My voice was montone to some degree and i used the table for support. It turns out that the NHS is hoping to integrate more elements of acupuncture into GP fund-raising programmes. So a big relief to all you sore backers out there!
