Hell no, Rockwell is Saatchis new favourite place to snap up young talent. This show had a lot of paintings of sort of horrific or ugly things in it, which was encouraging. None were very beautiful bad paintings, but all had a spirit of wanting to make paintings which don't sing for their supper. The best painting was a large long one of a cartoony graveyard by James Jessop, which was the crudest and directest statement, without too much selfconscious posturing, it hits you, and makes you wonder whether it is junk or good, and that makes it interesting.
