I think that the stereotyping of Roman Soldiers is perhaps less worrisome than the stereotyping of Jews. There is no history of oppression and persecution of Roman soldiers based on racist myths encouraged by blaming them for the murder of Christ.

Also even if a guy called Jesus existed, even if all happened like in the gospels, even if he were the son of God, even if some Jews in the story were responsible for his crucifixion, why should that make other Jews guilty for his death.

Are all Americans still responsible for the assassination of Lincoln because an American killed him?
