Review

It's great to be a student sometimes, I got a £65 ticket, third row from the front, for £12.50. Initially it felt wrong to here Puccini sung in English, a kind of swizz to hear the brutal english consonants set to the swirly Italian music, but in the end it was nice to follow the story easily.

Opera allows badly dressed English people to feel in their element, ticking each other off for inappropriate behaviour without risk of being punched in the face by an oik.

Tosca was too fat, but had a good voice. The singer playing the artist had a big voice, and the third act was actually pretty beautiful.
