World wide review is soundlng a lot less facetious these days! This book sounds very interesting, I would certainly like to read it. Maybe this summer. You can find interesting books in second hand bookshops. I used to make a habit of looking in them for serendipitious finds, though I realised you can not force these things. One of my choicest finds was Hebel's Treasure Chest, from the nineteenth century, translated from German. Lots of short stories. Hitler Youth, they sow the ideas from an early age. The observation of racialism and xenophobis certainly rings true, and the fear of immigration. This is extensively bandied about in the newspapers. One wonders why. Many people leave the UK. It barely merits mention. Yet the polity men make an issue of it. Some people live on conflict, it's the sad fact of things.
