Review

You walk into the Mezerama and the heat from the open grill brings whispers of roasting lamb, chicken, peppers, aubergines, and before you can complain that you've walked all of 50 metres from the metro to be there, Zihni, the owner, is there with a smile to guide you to your seat. This small Turkish meze bar is one of the best eating places in this part of London. The best kebabs, all prepared by Zihni and his classically trained chefs, are on offer, so if you enjoy meat then this is the place to head for. If you don't then he has a selection of fish and vegetarian dishes to rejuvenate the most jaded palates. Washed down with a glass of the house red and accompanies by the endless stories Zihni has on tap you will come out not just with your hunger satisfied but also knowing much more about Mediterranean history than you could ever wish. Good food, entertainment and an education to boot; what more do you want from an evening out?
