Is it me or are all seaside towns the same....The generic arcades, shoddy falling down piers, smelly cockles, fish and soggy chip shops, Indian families- their sarees fluttering in the wind like beacons against the slate grey air (we used to be like that, exoticism looking slightly out of place in the most English of settings). Like a stick of rock, childhood memories of artificial sweetness, sugar coated memories and its disappointments....that every slice is the same throughout.
