Last night, my partner and I went to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind at a local cinema – hardly packed out but the beauty of these offbeat films is that mass crowds will not flock. I was fully open to what might happen and totally aware that Kaufman’s writing has a very surreal side to everything. The actors played by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet were very convincing; a certain charm, short, tastefully shot with back to front plot. Certainly a churned up subconcious trip definintely provided by camera trickey. We see none of the blockbuster visuals here but that’s the beauty of low budget films. It’s there uniqueness that propels the viewer into other dimensions but keeps it real too!
