Review

Camdens arts centre is beautiful in the near summer, cool, white, and airy and empty , just a few people chatting over coffee in the garden and unobtrusive invigilators. Rockman doesn't rock, his ideas and painting (folk art style: shadow, mid, highlight)are too crude for that, from a distance they have some brute power of bright colours and clear images. He's not going to draw millions in, which is a pity and lucky for the happy few. In another room is a silly interactive project involving computers, which when used in art always produce things that seem outdated like the future. Brian Griffiths, cyril dropped, has made a viking ship which is kinda impressive and kind of artless which always goes down well these bright days.
