This morning I went to the gym on the college campus. I met a man on the rowing machine. He was working as a cab driver in London, as he has done for the last 4o years but recently had a triple by-pass operation so had to return his license. He will, however, regain his license providing he fulfills a fitness requirement on the treadmill machine. But this one measures in cardinal incline, while the evaluating people go by percentages. How will the two co-incide? Worked as an ambulance driver with the ambulance Corps. as part of national service in Somerset. Was the last cohort to do so. Stayed on for 5 years. Gone from 18 stone to 15 stone. Feeling better than 30 years ago. D-Day celebrations on one of the tv channels. Keep the peace.
