go to bowling green ( sounds like that)on the subway ( they don't sell subs and you they don't indicate when the trains will arrive)and then walk to a cattle shed where a few hundred of you cheap pirates board the free! Staten Island ferry. You get to see some squashed up Manhattan scrapers and the statue of liberty at statuette distance. Forced disembarkation at Staten Island, a rubbish tip so they say, and then reboard for journey back. Round trip one hour. Recommended if you want pleasantly boring holiday time reading paper and little gazing.
