Apparently the women in Brittany go out and pursue men, so I was told by a woman in France with wild hair and bright eyes. She was a Breton. Her man was from Argentina, he was smaller than her. We watched a French video together about a man and his cow, called the Cow and the President.... or something like that. I have heard a lot of talk recently of women waiting for their man to propose, getting bored of waiting and going off or whatever. So where are we now? Why are these people waiting for these other people to say something to them. Every one is in charge of their own lives in whatever way they want to see that control. It is still quite amazing that we don't have the same sense of esteem, regard of ourselves, idea of our own power to do things or not, to ask for things. To try and get what we want. To want something in the first place rather than to wait for someone else to want it. How is it possible that these old ideas have been maintained, inspite of our recklessness, our bad lives, doing what we want so much of the time, eating what we want, working in the shit jobs we want, where we have no religion to tell us what should be how. Why aren't these waiting women more like the alleged Bretton women. If they want that good man they should do something. Power to the people. Then there is the whole idea of the male fear of marriage. The conventional idea of men being afraid of committment, and women wanting it. The woman forcing the man in to marriage perhaps, forcing him to commit. Who gave us these roles to play. These boys on the tube talking about their girls who are upset because they are not phoning them enough. These women wondering if after how many days they should text this man. If you don't like it don't do it, don't be hassled. Are we to believe still that women are more easily worn down in to submission by the persistant man. That womens egos have to be massaged and soothed in to acceptance of brutish man? That mens egos are not fed in the same way? That we don't all find things we can't have enticing, even if they are horrible, sickly once we have them. That we aren't all made up of brilliance and the ridiculous at the same time. I say people should believe in what they believe, their own thoughts, and have courage to say what they want regardless of allrather than be bored by waiting. Long live the Bretton woman.
